Project Overview
CitiFix is a comprehensive mobile and web application designed to streamline the reporting and resolution of various city infrastructure issues such as streetlight outages, road surface damages, and other public maintenance concerns. The application allows residents to easily report issues and provide detailed information to the officials.
The core idea behind CitiFix is to empower citizens with a user-friendly tool to report issues, enhance task management for city officials, and improve communication between all parties. By facilitating real-time updates and seamless coordination, CitiFix helps ensure that urban infrastructure is maintained effectively.
Highlights
The future of urban maintenance - empowering citizens and officials to report and resolve issues in real time.
Research
We conducted in-depth interviews with a diverse group of stakeholders, including citizens, property managers, and utility company representatives in New York.
These interviews provided valuable insights into their experiences, challenges, and needs related to infrastructure reporting and maintenance.
• As-is & To-be Journey map
The as-is journey map for CitiFix highlighted inefficiencies in reporting city infrastructure issues, such as time-consuming methods and communication gaps. Visualizing these steps identified areas for improvement.
The to-be journey map outlines a streamlined process for CitiFix, where field teams use augmented reality (AR) tools for precise diagnostics and efficient problem-solving. This approach reduces delays, improves communication, and enhances transparency, fostering a more responsive community.
Wireframes
We started by creating basic wireframes and sketches to visualize the core functionalities. These initial designs focused on simplifying the user interface for reporting issues, automating task prioritization, and providing real-time updates. We conducted iterative testing with users to gather feedback, which helped us refine the layout and features.
